So, after a week of final training and the wedding of Ben and Sarah in Port Douglas, Randall is set for the trip to Germany and the walk. The objective is to reach Braubach after 9 days at what should be a respectable 16-20 kms per day. We will start on Sunday May 19 from Wiesbaden. Randall has allowed a couple of days each side of the walk as R&R book ends; Bacharach before and then Koblenz at the end. The walk routine is fairly standard; we will carry day packs only with the baggage being moved daily between our lodgings. We are expecting the weather to be quite respectable too; not cold nor hot and maybe a shower or two to keep us on our toes. Not sure if I will be able to report progress daily but I will do my best.
