Views in Bacharach

Well, although cool enough, I had a pleasant last day of walk preparation with my ferry trip to St Goar and back. The bike riders were out and about and there just about only 400 to 500 on the ferry it seemed, all heading for a day out from the various towns where they are staying. Bacharach gave me a chance to preview the country on the other side of the river where we will walk. We will pass Bacharach way on about day 3.
Event record as follows: ferry 40 mins (downriver), coffee and rhubarb cake (20 mins), walk up to Rheinfels castle ruins above St Goar (2-3 hours), salad, beer and more spargel (1 hr), photo ops (30 mins), ferry up river (70 mins), refresh at home (1 hr), dinner in 1358 anno inn (2 hrs), town and river stroll (45 mins) thern home again). Prep now finished and on to main act
